New Publication of Habakuk's Illustrations

I have attempted to post all the details Habakuk has kindly sent me again. I hope they work.

  1. I persevered. I still have no idea how to enlarge the images: usually I can click on them and they go full size.

Perhaps there's another way - I'm thinking of blog visitors.

    Best regards Habakuk,

  2. Well if visitors want enlarged pictures they should just send us their email address and I or you can mail them the drawings. The technical drawings are innocent.
The genral public would not know what they are for!
I will just change the drawing name to bracelet or something.

  5. Ha ha! I think you'd need an experienced engineer or plumber. Personally I wouldn't know where to start...

Do let me know if you manage to do it.

  6. If I had a metal lathe, I could do it. That is why I had to use wood for the block. I like his better. Kbar

  7. You need a good outfit to make this, for sure, but that should not be such a problem in Europe or the USA? Any good fitter, repair workshop, with a lathe and milling machine could make it. If I new who makes the standard rings, I would send the drawings there. I think that there would be plenty stretchers (not only suspenders) out there who would love to have this more interesting ring?

  8. I want to arrange a seat like a swing connected to a trapeze bar. This would have a rope to a pulley on the rafter then the rope would extend 2-3 feet along the rafter to another pulley and down to the ball suspension rope or suspension hook. Someone sitting on the seat or pulling on the trapeze bar could put their full weight on the balls and be suspended that way. If the two weights were the same, both could be suspended off the floor. The sitter if lighter would still have their full weight held by the balls. A novel experience! Kbar

  9. Sounds intriguing! Hope you're not too heavy, or the other participant... :-)

  10. I know that I can sustain my own body weight so if the person on the swing is less, I would not be lifted but would still swing their whole wieght. It the person on the swing weighs more than me I would be lifted and just be holding my own weight. This seems safer than someone hanging below me on a seat. Kbar
